Matt Westfield

Matt Westfield started his 1st entrepreneurial endeavor at age 10, by starting a TV Guide route from scratch – managing to grow it to 150 customers in the 1st year. He started his 2nd successful business at age 21 -- a design/build firm -- after dropping out of college because he knew everything. At 30, realizing that he didn’t know anything, Mr. Westfield sold off the design/build company very successfully and went back to school.

College degrees: Undergrad – Computer Science; Grad –Masters in Int’l Business/Marketing.

During the early 90’s he was enamored w/3D & Virtual Reality -- realizing visualization could be a game changer when working from blueprints. His team launched a 3D division for a high-tech private college, dedicated to providing high-end graphic solutions for tech companies. He developed strategic alliances with Intel, Motorola, US West and the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team. Next as a Microsoft Business Partner, it was off to Seattle to develop the world’s first anti-fraud software. Strategic alliances included: the FBI, CIA, DOJ, DOD, State Farm Insurance, Int’l Federation of Police Chiefs, and others. The company did so well, it was sold to a database company in Florida.

In 1999 Mr. Westfield set his sights on Reno to fire up a dotcom in the Financial and Investor Relations arena focused on developing alliances w/the leading financial writers in the country. From there Mr. Westfield took the National Sales Director position at a fashion watch company. His mission: to dismantle and re-build the 13-year-old corporate division in ONE year. He succeeded – with a significant upside still being realized 8 years later. From there he bought the US rights to a European Design collection of executive gifts. Within a year on a whim, he invented the first custom paperclip company – five years later that company is still the leader in the space. www.LOGOpaperCLIPs.com .

Currently he is the Owner/Partner in 3 companies, on 3 Board’s, focusing on the Entrepreneurial non-profit www.SGS101.com.  He’s been writing Business Plans/Corporate Strategies/Executive Summary’s since 1992. Mr. Westfield is a Charter Judge for the Reynolds Governor Cup Biz Plan Competition and an original Tech Alliance member… does anyone remember that?
